'United States of America' in Contacts (2003 SP3)

I’ve noticed that Outlook automatically adds “United States of America” to contacts when I enter an address for them. I have very few international contacts, so this is unnecessary and somewhat annoying.

Anybody know how to stop it? Thanks!

According to Some countries or regions are not listed in the contact address list in Outlook:

If you do not enter a country name, Outlook uses the country that you set in the Regional Settings tool of Windows Control Panel.

So, it looks at though you can't stop it.

In my experience, the country is only added if you click on the Address Resolution button (or whatever it's called). See picture from Outlook 2003 Contact record.

You could try unchecking the "Show this dialog when address is unclear" checkbox.

For me, the country is automatically added after you start typing an address...
