    Windows Explorer

When I'm dealing with filed and folders in My Music, I want to set the displayed info so when I move from folder to folder the displayed info will be the same.
I've tried everything and the settings will stay in effect until I change to another folder and the info changes back to what must be standard.

Please help, this is driving me crazy.

    Re: Windows Explorer

    What operating system?

The usual method is to set each folder's settings to be remembered in Tools > Folder Options...

    XP Pro or Home?
If Pro, do you connect to a domain? - it could be an administrative policy to disable access to this tab.

Our frequently referenced friend Kelly (Troubleshooting Windows XP, Tweaks and Fixes for Windows XP) has a number of "fixes" for problems with Folder Options, such as Line number 129 or 368. But first check Leif's post above about the domain question to see if that's the problem.
