    Transfer Text (2003)

    Is there way to get Access to export text fields without the double quote as a delimiter when using transfertext ? I am building an application where we use Access to filter data and then export the results to a text file. The text file is then used as an input file to a Bulk Insert in SQL Server. Unfortunately the exported text data includes the double quote at the beginning and end of each text field once imported into SQL Server. The numeric data is handled correctly.

    Start the export process interactively, using File | Export...
    Specify the settings you prefer in the Text Export Wizard, in particular (none) as Text Delimiter.
    Instead of clicking Finish, click Advanced... in the last step.
    Click Save As...
    Enter a name (or accept the one suggested by Access), then click OK.
    You have saved an export specification for later reuse.
    You can now cancel the actual export.

    Use the name of the export specifation in DoCmd.TransferText:

    DoCmd.TransferText TransferType:=acExportDelim, SpecificationName:="MySpec", _
    TableName:="MyTableOrQuery", FileName:="C:ExportData.txt", HasFieldNames:=True

    You must substitute the correct names, of course.

    Thanks, that solved my problem.
