    usb drives (vista home premium)

I recently installed the home premium on my dell xps 2010 last week. I was able to use my leaxr jump drive and e-mail a picture from it. Now I am unable to use it or my new flash drives(San Disk). The screen for new driver hard ware pops up and says to insert disk or click here for other options. I click the options and tells me to check with the manufactuer. I did that all of my drives are vista compatible.
Also after installing vista, It clashed with my HP printer (runtime error) I unistalled it no problem. Could these two be related or should I try reinstalling Vista (clean)? <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20> <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

Visit the vendors sites (Sandisk & HP) and see if there are Vista drivers available.

Thanks to all for the useful information I learned alot. For those that are unaware go to your computer manufacture'ssupport for new drivers and devices update. (Dell for one has that not sure about the others. Sandisk has no update for vista yet. Lexar doesn't require drivers. After I updated on my support link the drives still did not work. I found this solution on another forum use C:windowssystem32
I was able to find the drives needed to activate my drives including the one from my camera.

The only problem I am still having is with my HP photosmart printer. I checked their web site and need no updates for vista.

You can try reinstalling the printer now that the other issues appear to be resolved. If Vista recognizes the correct printer model then HP supplied at least a minimum dirver for that printer. It should work. If you still get an error write down any error codes. Do a search for the error code and printer model. Someone may have a solution for that already.
