    Laptop Keyboard Trouble

Howdy all. I have an HP laptop, model zd8205us, that's only 2&1/2 years old. My keyboard is driving me nuts!! <img src=/S/bash.gif border=0 alt=bash width=35 height=39> The last 2 weeks, it skips letters, symbols, and characters - everything on the keyboard is missing hits.

I've already tried using canned air to blow it out, with no help. Also emailed HP (twice), with no response from them at all. No luck searching for the problem, either. Had to hit at least 15 keys twice in this post!

    Any (almost any) <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15> suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mike.

Unless you are familiar with taking apart laptops, I'd suggest sending it back to HP for repairs.

    Mike,
I would agree with DOC on this. Get it back to HP.

That old "fix" with canned air is about as useless as ( fill in your own description here ) TOABH. No, I'm not going to explain that. <img src=/w3timages/censored.gif alt=censored border=0> <img src=/S/innocent.gif border=0 alt=innocent width=20 height=20>

    Re: Laptop Keyboard Trouble

    Many thanks, Doc & Viking. FINALLY (6 days) got a reply from HP Tech support, with several suggestions. The first was a BIOS update. That did the trick!!!!! <img src=/S/bananas.gif border=0 alt=bananas width=33 height=35> <img src=/S/clapping.gif border=0 alt=clapping width=19 height=23> <img src=/S/clapping.gif border=0 alt=clapping width=19 height=23> <img src=/S/cheers.gif border=0 alt=cheers width=30 height=16> I don't have a clue how the BIOS got corrupted - I'm pretty careful with this 'puter, or what caused it. Bottom line is it's *APPARENTLY* fixed! Hey Viking - I've been known to use TOABH on a semi regular basis for a lotta years myself <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15>

    Thanks again,
    Mike.

    Mike,
Glad to hear your HP is back working again.
    Also to see that you know what TOABH means. Old saying indeed! <img src=/S/clapping.gif border=0 alt=clapping width=19 height=23> <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/gramps.gif border=0 alt=gramps width=20 height=20>
