    Dump Files (Vista Home Premium)

When I do my scheduled disk cleanup, I'm not sure whether to save or remove the two types of dump files (nor do I know what they are). Suggestions?

The dump files are automatically created by Vista when a program has a problem (i.e. crash, stopped repsonding, etc.). Usually the files are deleted when the problem report has been sent to Microsoft. I'm not at a Vista machine right now so my description may be a little fuzzy but you can go to the Control Panel and look around for something similar to "Check for new solutions" which will allow you to send any pending reports. Then it should not make any difference if the dump files are deleted.

Ever since those problem reports began showing up on XP, I've ignored them. Do you recommend actually sending them? (though I don't think I get them on my Vista machine)

Yes I do, as this is the only way you have, to tell Microsoft that there are problems.
And YES, the MS staff does look at these reports.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

And YES they sometimes respond with a pointer to an update that fixes the problem.

I concur with Dave. Send the reports. Microsoft does analyze them and use them as a basis to prioritize work on fixing errors.
