Pivot Table Totals on Chart (2003)

    Greetings all,

Am wondering if it is possible to capture the Total Record count from the pivot table, and display on the chart generated from the table?

IE: at the bottom of the pivot table, it displays the Grand Total Count of the records.

    thanks,
    Brad

    1) Activate the sheet with the pivot table.
Click in a cell well away from the pivot table. Let's say this is cell A37.
Type =, then point to the cell with the Grand Total and press Enter.
You'll get a formula like this (the exact name and cell reference will be different):

    =GETPIVOTDATA("fieldname",$G$1)

    2) Activate the sheet with the pivot chart.
Type =, then activate the sheet with the pivot table and point to the cell with the formula (A37) and press Enter.
You should now have a small text box floating over the chart with the Grand Total in it.
You can move this text box to a convenient location, and format it the way you like.
