    Receive B4 Send (OL2000/sr1)

Many of the "free" email services etc. use a POP authentication for SMTP. In otherwords you must log in to the POP server before you can send mail.
In OL2000 when you select send/receive it does it in that order so the send always fails. You then have to send again to reach the SMTP. Is there anyway to change the order that OL performs these tasks.
I have worked out some kludgy workarounds that are ok for new mail, but awkward for replies/forwards.

sorry, no way to change it. try using the authenticate options - it helps on some servers, is useless on others.

outlook 2002 allows pop before smtp.

A little trick I heard about:
Set up 2 identical accounts with them set to send and receive together.
The first will fail, the second will work, and you won't have to think about it.
