Don't think so, besides they do NOT take up much room any way.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Dave...hate to be a pain but "dont think so" and "doesnt take up much" is a "non answer" i restate can windows mail and IM be removed ? Has any one else
tried to do this, or at least thought about it? In my opinion any software that can be installed can be removed....just dont know how to change all the "permissions" Hoops if i took your advice i would still have many useless programs running. ie Aol ,netzero, vonage, snapfish,HP bloatware etc.
thanks for the "non answer"...plain fred

To uninstall any of the programs that get installed by default and are not listed in add/remove programs check adding/remove Windows components to see if they are listed. Most everything is considered part of the operating system and Microsoft won't let you easily get rid of it.

    Joe,
With Vista, unchecking a "Windows Feature" does NOT uninstall it nor does it free up disk space. It simply makes the particular feature unavailable for use.
