Font Questions Regarding Template (XP)

I have two questions about fonts in the template.

First, I know how to format regular text but how do I control how the hyperlinks appear? Currently, they appear as an ugly orange in a template I am using. I know how to reformat the text in the slide but I would prefer to handle this in the template but I cannot figure out how.

Second, my presentations are behaving as if the template has something formatted as Arial Unicode MS. (It’s a very large font so saving the presentation with fonts included bumps up even a one slide presentation to over 12 MB.)

I have looked at all the text in the template and all of it is plain Arial. I am certain that nothing I can find and see in the template is formatted using Arial Unicode MS. I cannot use the Replace Formatting option as no other font is a double-byte font. Any suggestions on how to locate/remove this formatting?

Make sure you're in slide design view.
Activate the Slide Design - Color Schemes task pane.
Click "Edit Color Schemes ..." at the bottom of the task pane.
Activate the Custom tab (if necessary).
The last two colors ("Accent and hyperlink" and "Accent and followed hyperlink") are the ones you want to customize.
Click a color, then click Edit Color...

Part of the problem may be because of embedded fonts. Save your presentation using "Save As" option --> go to tools and uncheck the embedded fonts option. Embeded fonts vastly increases the file size.
