Turn Task Pane back on (2002/2003)

I've searched but cannot seem to find:

How do we get the Task Pane to display when Word is started?

The Tools|Options|View|Startup Task Pane is checked. There appears to be only one Normal.dot on the computer. We reset that Normal to our standard, but then want to have the Task Pane appear when Word starts or File|New is selected. We can turn Task Pane on by using the View menu, but the user wants to see it all the time.

    Select Tools | Options...
In the View tab, tick the check box "Startup task pane" and click OK.

If that doesn't help, download and install the free add-in TaskPaneController, available from Controlling the Task Pane, even when add-ins are present. It'll add an option Task Pane Controller to your Tools menu in Word.

    Thanks, Hans.

    We will test this out.
