    Mouse wheel double-click (XP SP2)

Hi. For years and years I've used clicking my mouse wheel as a double-click, in addition to scrolling. I recently killed my no-name mouse, and plugged in a Microsoft USB laser mouse. Ordinary enough item these days, I think. When it detected the Microsoft mouse, Windows XP helpfully replaced my Logitech mouse driver with its own, which doesn't include the feature "use wheel click as double click". I tried to reinstall the Logitech driver, but upon reboot XP replaced it with its own driver again. Any ideas how I can reactivate the "wheel click as double click" feature?

Go to Microsoft Hardware - Download Software and download the Intellipoint version for your mouse. That will let you define the mouse wheel action.
