    Hi There

A little known set of shortcuts to toggle between views of a form are

Ctrl + . (Control and full stop or period)
Ctrl + , (Control and comma)

Continue pressing the option will toggle between

    1) Design View,
    2) Form Design View,
    3) Datasheet View,
    4) Pivot Table View and
    5) Chart View
    6) Back to #1

    Doesn't quite answer your specific question, but I thought I would add the tip <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

In addition to Jezza's reply: you cannot place a button on a form that would close the form while it is in design view - by definition, controls don't work while you are in design view. You can use a keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+F4 or Ctrl+W), and you could place a "Close" button on a toolbar.
