No auto checking mail (Outlook 2002 SP3)

Is there some adjustment I can make to fix my Outook? I have Outlook 2002 SP3 at home and work. Most of the time I have to click send/receive to get my mail. The settings are all correct to automatically check mail every 3 mins. If I change the settings slightly and restart it, it seems to work for a while, then reverts back to having to hit send/receive each time to receive mail even though the settings are all the same.

Is this a flaw in Outlook? Any work around for this or suggestions?

    Thanks

Have you made sure that the menu option Tools | Send/Receive Settings | Disable Scheduled Send/Receive does *not* have a check mark?

Try setting the interval to 5 or 10 minutes. Some providers have trouble processing send/receive requests at short intervals.

If that doesn't help: does your antivirus program scan e-mails? If so, try turning e-mail scanning off temporarily.

Ok, thanks. I'll put it to 5 mins and see what happens.

Interesting. I changed it to 5 mins and so far so good. I'll let you know if it messes up any more and we'll keep looking.
