    Folders Pane (XP SP2)

I would like to have the Folders Pane (at left) always come up when I open a Windows Explorer window. But every time I open a new window I have to hit the folders key to display it.
Is there a setting somewhere to accomplish this?
I have tried several times to use the Tools>Folder Options> Apply to all folders without any success.

Create a shortcut with a target like this:

    explorer.exe /e, C:

The /e switch specifies that you want to start in Explorer mode (with a folders pane), and C: is the initial path (you can replace this with whatever path you want).

You can place the shortcut in your start menu, and/or in your Quick Launch toolbar, and/or on your desktop.

If you start Windows Explorer using the Winkey-E hotkey, it will start with My Computer in the left pane, no matter how many instances you run.

    Further to Hans' suggestion.

If you place the shortcut on your desktop, you can assign a Shortcut Key combination (such as Ctrl + Alt + E), which means that you can open the Explorer session without having to use the mouse.

    Thanks to all!
The /e, was exactly what I was looking for.
