MSFP error on Save (FP2000)

Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to fix it?

All of a sudden now (for the last couple of days) I am getting an MSFP error
message -

"An error occurred accessing your Front Page web files. Authors - if
authoring against a web server, please contact the webmaster for this
server's site. WebMasters - please see the server's system log for more
details."

Well, we host our own site, Windows NT-4 and IIS-4. I have checked the
system log, and it doesn't show a thing when this happens.

If I save the file to my hard drive, I do not get the error - but - if I
save it to the webserver (live web), I do.

The odd part is that the file IS saved, and if you click on "OK", you get
the windows "Save AS" box. You can then click on cancel, then close the
front page window, selecting "NO" when it ask you if you want to save the
file. Then you need to press the F-5 key to refresh the FP directory (In
"Page" view) since it won't refresh on its own.

After all that, if you open the same file back up, you will see that your
changes were indeed saved.

I have been searching thru the MS Knowledge Base pages, but haven't been
able to find anything.

Leif

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Even though I am trying to save a page, and am not clicking on permissions or trying to create a new subweb, it seems possible, since we installed the FP2002 server extensions a couple of weeks ago.

One more question, do the previous FP server extensions need to be uninstalled before installing the FP2002 extensions?

I'm afraid I can't find a definitive answer to that - but I can find several instances of problems reported by folks having upgraded. I suspect it's all a bit new for too much info to be available. It may well be worth giving it a go

Otherwise, here is a link to Site Builder - I've only just come across it myself and will be delving in when I find the time. It's hosted by the co-author of FP2002 Unleashed so should have some useful stuff.
