    digital certificate (Outlook 6)

Can someone please explain to me exactly how a digital certificate works? I know there are public and private keys involved. But when I send a digitally signed email to my friend, how would his OL be able to decrypt my msg and no one else? What if I send a digitally signed email to a GROUP of my friends, how would this be different from sending to only one person?

    Thanks

Seems like you are confusing digital signing and encryption. Digital signing is used as a way to ensure that the sender is who they say they are. See Digital signature - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for more information.
