    Centering Zero Dashes In Accounting Format (2003)

    I would like to be able to center the "dash" result I get when I enter a zero in a cell that is formatted as Accounting, with no dollar sign or decimal places. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    The dash is aligned with the last digit. It's not really possible to center the dash in the cell.

    You could simulate it being centered by switching the number format to Custom. You'll see something like this:
    <code>
    _(* #,##0_);_(* (#,##0);_(* "-"_);_(@_)
    </code>
    The third part is for zero values. You can experiment with adding ? characters after the "-" until the dash appears in the middle of the cell. However, as soon as you change the column width, the effect will be disturbed and you'd have to adjust the format again... So I'd forget about it.
