    Looking to Up-grade my PC

Looking for new motherboard, Dual core CPU, RAM, and Video card.

I have in my PC an FIC AD11 MB that is going on seven years old. It is still going strong with no signs of wear and tear.
I would like to get a new MB that will be able to handle the components that are presently in the PC now.
I would like to add to this new MB a dual core CPU, a very up to date video card and bring on at least 4g of RAM.
One other addition would be a creative drive FX sound system.
I will be installing the Vista OS.

All of the other components in this PC are less than six months old.
    550 W Cooler Master PS.
Four 80 Gb WD ATA HDs. (One is for XP, another for 98SE, the third is used for storage and the fourth is not hooked up but will be used for Vista. I use a boot manager to hop between each HD.)
Two ATA Lite-on Light scribe DVD CD RW.
    One NEC Floppy drive.

It is very confusing looking at all the motherboards that are available. All seem to be set up for SATA drives and the best I have seen was set for only six drives with no way of even connecting a floppy.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Questions

Do you really *need* all those hard drives? For a bit more than a hundred clams you can get yourself a big fat hard drive that'll generate only a quarter of the heat. If you want the option of booting to Win98, why not pull those "new" components and rebuild the old computer like it was last year? A new motherboard means you're going to need new RAM and new video. If you buy a new hard drive all you're really missing is a new case.
Do you *really* need a floppy? I honestly can't recall the last time I even saw a floppy disk, let alone put one in any of the six I've been using this century.
The fact that you want an FX sound system and Vista tells me you're up to something ... but what? I'd try to steer you away from Vista unless you have a serious need, so I'm curious what that need might be.

    Re: Questions

So he has four 80 gig HDs.
    Why NOT use them?
I know I wouldn't go out and spend a hundred bucks or more just to generate less heat.
DO you really need SATA? Depends on what you are doing.

    Re: Questions

So far as the floppy drive is concerned, why not get a USB external floppy drive?

A number of places offer them Iomega being one, and there is one HERE

For less than $20.00 bucks with free shipping.
