    Protections Etcetera (97 SR2)

I established an elaborate set of protections on my database, now I want to remove them. The bad part, is that I seem to have lost my admin password... Any ideas?

Pray? Seriously, though, there are some options depending on how extensive your security was. Can you get into it through an unsecured workgroup file? If so, it might be simplest to just create a new database and import all the objects from the old one.

There are some sites that sell software for cracking Access security. I thought I had a link to one, but can't seem to find it. I'm sure a search of Access Security will find it.

Unless you followed the instructions to the tee for securing an Access database, you can probably recover things using Charlotte's approach. Another ploy is to try changing the ownership of all the objects to another user-id that has reasonably broad security (read design or better), and if you haven't killed the Admin Group priviledges you can also add that user to the Admin Group. Unfortunately, as far as I know, there are no commercial tools that will extract your admin password out of the system.mdw file.
