    IE 7 Freezes on XP SP2 (7.0.5730.13)

I installed IE7 on my co-worker's machine, and every time she uses it it freezes & freezes other applications. When she goes to task manager and kills the process everything un-freezes. We use Firefox as much as possible, but some of the websites and tools we need for our business require Internet Explorer, so we will eventually need to switch. Any thoughts as to what I can do to make it work better?

Are you up-to-date with patches? Do you have the Phishing Filter enabled?

The machine was fully updated and running the anti-phishing filter.

Try turning the phishing filter off.

That helped some. IE7 still runs slower than IE6 did and it freezes occasionally.

I don't see it being slower although I've seen that complain before on other forums. Often slowdowns are due to poorly written or out-of-date addons. Have you checked the IE addons? Try disabling one at a time to see if any of them are the culprit. I do have IE7 freeze occasionally too. I tend to discount that as I see this at work and my PC has lots of software installed, uninstalled, and modified. So, I can't really say that IE is the problem or there is something leftover or corrupted. It happens infrequently enought that I don't worry about it. I just 'kill' IE and restart it. Are the 'freezes' you see only on certain web sites?
