    Phishing Filter (IE7)

    Hi -

Does the Lounge recommend turning this Filter on?

    Thanks!

I have had it turned on on of our machines since day one and have seen a lot of benefits but no issues except upfront when there were very few sites in the approved database.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Acer,
I've had it turned on on my machine since day 1 - Hasn't caused me any problems that I'm aware of. I see It as another worthwhile layer of protection.

The only issue I have with it is that occasionally it seems to hang IE. The icon just sits there in the status bar and never acts as though it completes its check. I guess it could be something else but when I have a problem with IE this seems to be the external manifestation.

I've had similar problems to what Joe mentioned, where it didn't hang IE but it DID appear to slow down the access to a lot of web pages.

    I have since DIS-abled it.

it may be a case of it works fine for some but not for all? Try it and see.

    Re: Phishing Filter (IE7)

I've had the phishing filter turned on since I installed IE7. It hasn't caused any problems on my PC. I don't really know how beneficial it is - I've never received a message that the phishing filter blocked a site - perhaps it does so silently, or perhaps I've never visited a suspect site...
