IS THERE A PROGRAM WHERE YOU COULD SET A QUICK REMINDER AND HAVE THE COMPUTER GIVE YOU AN ALARM ? NOT THE OUTLOOK CALENDAR OR TASKS, BUT JUST A STAND ALONE PERHAPS SHAREWARE PROGRAM ???? Would like to have for both 98 Second and XP if possible.

Firstly, can you snap the Caps Lock off of your keyboard please, we are not hard of hearing in the Lounge <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
Secondly, a Quick Google using the keywords "alarm clock freeware" brought a whole swathe to choose from...enjoy

Sorry, but that's against the rules here. Can you not download the program at home, copy it to a memory stick and take it to work ???
The entire program is only 272 KB and would even fit on a 3.5 floppy (if you can find one) for the Win 98 machine.

Thinking a bit outside the square, perhaps try a hardware option. We were never satisfied with the software option so bought a Canon CT10 timer, you can see an image if you google and translate from Japanese. About the size of a box of matches, 1 second to 24hrs, memory, alarm beeps and will stay on for about 3 minutes. We need a timer most days for important random appointments and this does an excellent job, so much so, the kids keep borrowing it too It is a timer / clock / and count up as well. Rod.
sorry but I do not quite understand your reply. I this a computer clock that comes up on the screen ?

Sorry Wonder Hostess, no not computer software, just a tiny physical timer, oven clock, or what you will, we find it has many uses but mostly as a computer alarm for our random appointments.
FYI here is another, "Citrus Alarm Clock" http://www.ornj.net/citrus/ HTH
