Convert dvd in MP4 - editing a dvd

    Hi

I am running windows xp; I have got a home made DVD video which I need to edit. I need to cut the first minute and half of the beginning of the film. I did not make the DVD so I was wondering if there is any free software that I could use. Or would I have to convert the DVD in to an MP4 because when I look in to the root of the DVD itís full of different files. I have an apple Mac too.

Also is there any free software to convert DVDís in to one MP4 file?]

If you could help I would appreciate it.

    Thanks

You need software to rip dvd - Google Search (extract from the DVD and copy to your HD). Once on your HD you should be able to use Windows Movie Maker to edit the file. Windows XP does not have native DVD burning. So, you need burn dvd - Google Search also.

    Hi thanks for advice

I downloaded ' Magic DVD ripper' which is free , I converted the DVD into an AVI file. I downloaded windows movie maker from downloads.com . I used the drag to trim tool to cut off the first 3 minutes of the video.

I then incerted the video in to powerpoint.

    Thanks for advice.
