Header beginning on second page (2003)

How do I set up a footer so that it starts on the second page of a document?
    Thanks.

    Select File | Page Setup...
    Activate the Layout tab.
Tick the check box "Different first page"
    Click OK.
The header and footer of the first page will be blank (until you explicitly put something there).
If you still have to create the footer for the second and following pages, make sure that you are on page 2 or further when you do so.
