Restore Pt on Non-System Partition (WinXP SP2)

Just wondering if there is really any point to maintaining a system restore point area on a partition that is not a system partition. On this PC there is a "C" partition that contains the usual WinXP system files, etc. The "D" partition only contains data and applications. If the restore point only restores the Windows OS files, is there really any point to maintaining a restore point for the D drive?

    Just wondering. Thanks, everyone! <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Since you have applications on the second drive you may need to keep the restore points there also.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

OK, so I guess the System Restore does more than just Windows? Can it restore something like MS Office as well; or is it that the Registry notations would need to be restored too? Just wondering as this came up in a conversation recently.

    Thanks, Dave!

Thanks for that info. I think I have a far better understanding now. I really appreciate the links.
