    More than 25 entries for a drop-down field (Word 97 SR-2)

    Does anybody know how to overcome the 25 entries limit for a drop-down field?

    I want a drop-down field with 60 entries

    Woody had something about this a while back- check in th W*W link at the bottom.

    I prefer to have a Userform. On an ordinary text form field, I have a "run on entry" macro. This pops up the userform I have built. It gives a lot more control than a dropdown (even though it takes more to build in the first instance). For instance, I can make it so that if a user highlights a field, I can decode it. Or I transfer control to form fields depending on the answer.

    Hi Solomod:

    See <A target="_blank" HREF=http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q194/0/26.asp>WD97: How to Create a Combo Box Containing More Than 25 Items</A>

    Hope this helps.

    For putting things into form fields oin a document, I'd use:

    <pre>With ActiveDocument
    .FormFields("text1").Result = TextBox1.text
    .FormFields("text2").Result = TextBox2.text
    End With
    </pre>

    Thanks for all the tips - I built the whole form using a userform and then managed to get onto Microsoft and look at WD97. Just the thing.

    Thanks Phil & Geoff
