Command button doesn't always work (office 2000)

    Hello,

I like to use command buttons a lot to view / pring a report, go to another form or query. For some reason, this particular database seems to have a problem or bug. When I first bring up the database and go to the form that has the different command buttons for the queries or reports I want to view, I can click on the command buttons to view any report. But when I start adjusting the queries to give me the results I need I may be lucky to get only one report command button to work and certainly not twice in a row. I have to constantly do a "compact and repair" in order to view the reports. This is not always the case but it happens quite frequently, enough to be very annoying.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you
    Louise

    Some things to try:

    1) Make sure that all code is connected to the command buttons:
    - Open the form in design view.
    - Select a command button.
    - Activate the Event tab of the Properties window.
    - Click in the On Click event.
    - Make sure that it says [Event Procedure].
    - Click the ... button on the right hand side.
    - Switch back to Access.
    - Repeat for the other command buttons.

    2) Compile the code.
    - Activate the Visual Basic Editor.
    - Select Debug | Compile <projectname>.
    - If you get an error message, try to repair it.
    - Repeat until you don't get an error message any more.

    3) If 1 and 2 don't help:
    - Create a blank new database.
    - Select File | Get External Data | Import...
    - Import all database objects from the problem database.
    - If you had set startup options for the old database (in Tools | Startup...), set them in the new database too.
    - Keep the old database as backup, and use the new one.
