    Windows Media Player

I don't know if this is the correct place for this, but
I use windows media player to rip songs off my CD's for my mp3 player.
Sometimes the CD info comes up right away.
    Sometimes no info comes up.
I'll try another time and the info comes up. I would like to know why
and can anything be done to get the info.
Also isn't the info on the CD?

    Tanks for any help,

    John S

    Re: Windows Media Player

Media information is not stored on standard audio CD's - you need an internet connection to download it when playing/ripping the music - see below.

It is possible that if you are getting the info displayed and are off-line at the time, WMP has downloaded the data previously and is simply recalling it from memory.

    Re: Windows Media Player

I was connected to the internet.
On the same options dropdown menu there was an option to
empty CD/DVD caches. I did that and that seems to really help.
