    Mark Ups / Edit (2003 SP2)

    Good morning

I do not use Word often (which will become apparent)

Somebody has been playing silly so and so's with one of my documents and has invoked some sort of function which shows changes etc, that have been made (grr) I have had a dabble around and gone to 'View' and 'Mark Up' and all these daft annotations disappear, however when I close and save they are back (double grr) in 'Tools' there is an option 'Track changes Ctrl-Shift-E' that appears to do nothing, in options I have switched off 'keep track of formatting' but everytime I close and open it is the same (triple grr)

Any help to save my sanity greatly appreciated

(why don't people leave things alone)

    Cheers

Activate the Reviewing toolbar (if necessary).
First, make sure that the "Track changes" button is "off". You can also look at the "TRK" indicator in Word's status bar. It should be grayed out. If it is black, double click it to turn off Track Changes.
This ensures that changes won't be tracked from now on. It doesn't do anything with already existing tracked changes.
To get rid of these, accept them all: click the little dropdown arrow to the right of the "Accept Change" button on the toolbar (with the blue tick mark), and select "Accept all changes in document" from the dropdown menu.

See Track Changes in Microsoft Word Q&A for background info.

I remember using Word 1.0 on an Apple Macintosh somewhere in the '80s. It ran off a single floppy disk! <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

Grandfather, what is a floppy disk?
