    Synopsis (office 2000)

    Hello,

Can I get some kind of synopsis or a “tree view” of a database that shows for example a report and where the information comes from. Or in a Query and where it’s used.

For example, a report that comes from what query or table and if possible any criteria or formulas from that query.

Does Access do something like this? If so, how ?
    Thanks!
    Louise

Access has a menu item Tools | Analyze | Documenter, but it doesn't provide the kind of overview you want.

Rick Fisher's Find and Replace for Microsoft Access add-in has a cross-reference tool that can generate a report that shows where (for example) tables or queries are used in the database. You can download a free evaluation copy, but the cross-reference tool is only available if you have paid and registered the add-in. It's well worth the modest price.

Total Access Analyzer from FMS Inc. has more extensive capabilities, but it's also much pricier.
