    Visual Basic Developer 05

I have create a web page in Visual Basic Developer and saved it to my website. The web page will provide a means of uploading files by FTP and uses a file upload button provided in VBD. My challenge is viewing this new page in the browser; I receive an error message that the page can not be displayed.

I'm not quite sure why but do know that when the browser tries to display the page the address is: ?????.org not the subfolder where I saved the new page.

    Your assistance is appreciated.

    Hi John

    1) Can you view any other page from that subfolder?
    2) Has it go a HTML or HTM extension,
    3) Is this a Windows or Linux box you are using?

    Jerry,

I have connected to the website and can see other files. I have but one webpage in the folder along with other files ie Word and Excel.

The webpage is named Default.aspx and I am working on a Window box. I saved a blank webpage and tried viewing it in the browser but encounter the same error message.

    Hi John

Maybe a silly idea of mine but is this a hosted site or a work/network site. If it is a work/network site have you set the IIS Manager to accept Default.aspx but it sounds like you don't have ASP.NET installed , that means you can't run any .ASPX files.

To install ASP.NET follow the steps:

    1) Go to the place where you installed the .NET Framework: "C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFramework" there should be a folder similar to 'v1.1.4322' (this is your version of .NET)

    2) Open a Command Prompt ... Start | Run and type cmd. At the command prompt type (replace 'vzzzzzz' with your version):

    %windir%Microsoft.NETFrameworkvzzzzzzaspnet_regiis .exe -i

After it finishes, you have one more step:

Open Run from Start Menu and type:

    regsvr32 %windir%Microsoft.NETFrameworkvzzzzzzaspnet_isapi. dll

Press OK, wait, and you should receive a confirmation message.

Obviously the above instructions are if you cannot run them on your localhost, otherwise I would contact your host and see if they support ASP.NET
