Type conversation error in macro (2003)

    Hello,

I appear to be getting a type conversation error, see screenshot.

I think this has occurred since l put a forumula into the field F1.
I find it odd that the first cell the error is referring to is blank in the table.

I am baffled as to the cause as this macro was working, any help would be appreciated.

For someone to be able to help, we would need to see the formula you have in F1, and at least some of the data.
Can you post a cut down version that displays the error.
    Regards
    John

The formula l am using is:

    =LEFT(B72,2)

Attached is a row of data l am using if you duplicate that with more rows the error might occur. Any help would be appreciated.
I am getting an error when l open Excel file, maybe this is the cause?

I have a feeling that as the value in A1 is numerical Access is assuming the field is going to be Long Integer. Change the value in A1 to something in text. Then try the import.

If that fails Copy and Paste Special the values in column A and select values, then try again.

BTW, not good practice to have a field name as a numeric

Changing the value to A1 in text worked, thanks for that.
