    Drag'n'drop to print (SP2)

I always thought there was some way to drag and drop documents - in this instance a load of pdf's in an email - onto a printer icon/shortcut and they would auto-magically print.
Am I mistaken, or is there some clever method I haven't thought of?

I just right click dragged a couple attachments from an email to a printer icon on my Quicklaunch bar and when I let go was given a Print or Cancel option. <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

OK, so what is the printer icon on your QL pointing to? I created a 'printer shortcut' by right-clicking a printer (in Settings > Printers & Faxes) and selecting 'Create shortcut'...

(I was then going to ask what you meant by 'right click dragged', when I discovered that right-clicking an attachment gives you a Print option ( <img src=/S/stupidme.gif border=0 alt=stupidme width=30 height=30> ) which is just about as good as I need!)

I can drag'n'drop files from Windows Explorer to a printer shortcut to print them, but not e-mail attachments (using Outlook 2002) - I get the "not allowed" mouse pointer when I try that.

But as you say, selecting Print from the right-click menu is just as easy.

Ah yes - dragging from a folder works, but as you say, not from Outlook 2002.

So the answer is, Select all > Drag to desktop > Drag to printer shortcut...

    Thanks <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    >"what is the printer icon on your QL pointing to?"

It points to my default printer in the Printers and Faxes folder. Should note that I don't use Outlook, but Outlook Express for my email. But it seems you've already found your work-around. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    Yep - seems I picked up on an issue with Outlook 2002 for my first trial <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>

Thanks for clarification on what the shortcut was - it is as I thought <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    Are you sure it's an "issue" and not a "feature" ??? <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>
