What program is this?

I was speaking to a rather computer unsophisticated friend yesterday who finally got a new machine. She is desperately missing her old photo editing program which, in concordance with her style, she does not remember what it was called so she can not get it again. I am not surprised but I am a bit dismayed.

Before I go back with her to try and troubleshoot the problem (I am quite busy for a few days) I was thinking maybe someone here might know. She says that the icon for the program was a little film can with a bit of film sticking out. That is all she remembers except that it had a great clone tool.

So, if anyone knows what program that might be and can tell me, that would be great. Thanks for even reading this. I so appreciate this place!

Hi Bob, that looks like a pay-per-click syndicated advertising link page. The internet is choking with these pages, often at rip-off domains. I'd prefer not to feed the business if we don't have to.

Jefferson,
It looks like you are right about THAT link.(s)

I have had and used that software for a number of years and I just went to the link provided in the help section of the program. I didn't follow the link all the way, just going to the area where it had the supposed download link. For some reason it looks like it has been hijacked or diverted or whatever.

Looking further into the help file, I came up with this one which appears to be the "real thing".

LPJ-SOFTWARE

Sorry for any confusion about this but it does look like the one that the OP was looking for.

Look at the software drop down at the top for the choice of English or Danish versions.

Re: What program is this?

I'm kinda glad this happened so that some Lounger searching can get the straight skinny on the true LPJ slideshow software. I got hung up in that link that looks phony about a year or so ago, even going so far as downloading the program called SmileBox, thinking it was a replacement for the "older" slideshow program which it is not.

So, in addition to your GOOD link above, there was a link by John Gray just a few months ago in <post#=654,283>post 654,283</post#> that leads to a download of LPJ Slideshow from PC World's web pages: LPJ-Slideshow.

Hi Bob

Since the link in your <post:=679,552>post 679,552</post:> is leading us in a direction you don't intend for us to go, maybe you could change the link to the proper spot and add a note in your edited post to explain why the change? Just a thought! I agree with Jefferson about not giving business to such sites!

Re: What program is this?

Bob,

While I agree that the icon for LPG Slideshow looks like the icon the OP was asking about, I would point out that the program is not an image editing program. It is slideshow creation software. The icon they mentioned was a film can and this is a film reel. I seem to recall a program from Corel that had a film can as it's icon, but I can't find anything on it. I'll keep looking and post back if I come across anything.

Re: What program is this?

That's right.

That is the main page for the author's products, including Slideshow .

IF you want the specific link for the freeware version, it is:

Hi Skitterbug,
Good suggestion. Consider it done on both posts prior to the proper one, at last.

Re: What program is this?

Doc,
Well, just a suggestion, since the icon I showed in my Utility Folder seemed to agree with the description. The difference being a film reel instead of a can.
