    XL File in Memory (XP)

If an Excel file (say Book1) is in memory and changes are made to it, is there a copy stored in a folder on the hard drive? The assumption is that the file was never saved to the hard drive to begin with. I'm thinking perhaps stored in a temporary hidden folder.

    Thanks,
    John

If you have "Save AutoRecover info every ... minutes" turned on in the Save tab of Tools | Options (and if you haven't turned it of for this particular workbook by ticking "Disable AutoRecover" in the same dialog), Excel stores a version of the workbook in the path specified in the "AutoRecover save location" box. This is updated at the specified interval.
Excel also stores some temporary files in your Temp folder, but I don't know what exactly their role is.
