    filter records (excel 2003)

    Greetings,
    1. In the attached example, how do I filter out the following values along with associated records from GRP_ID column?

    5410
    A0020
    B5214
    A0005
    000362

I tried the following but didn’t get exactly what I was looking for:
    OR($B2=”5410”,$B2="A0020",$B2="B5214",$B2="A005",$ B2=”000362”)

    2. What is the best way to copy the filtered data onto another sheet?

    TIA,
    OCM

    Re: filter records (excel 2003)

Columns A and B have the same name, you should change the name in A1 to something else.
You can then use Data | Advanced Filter.

    - Type GRP_ID in a cell lower down, for example in A19.
    - Enter the values you want to filter in the cells below (A20:A24).
    - Copy the column headers A1:P1 to Sheet2.
    - Select A1:P1 on Sheet2 (you *must* start Advanced filter on the target sheet, not on the source sheet, if you want to copy to a different sheet)
    - Select Data | Filter | Advanced Filter...
    - Excel will issue a warning. Click OK.
    - Select Sheet1!$A$1:$P$14 as list range.
    - Select Sheet1!$A$19:$A$24 as criteria range.
    - Click the radio button Copy to another location.
    - Select Sheet2!$A$1:$P$1 as Copy to range.
    - Click OK.
