    Wd2000 ignores readonly (Word 2000)

I am still using old WordBasic to drive Word 2000. When using WrdBasic to drive Word 97 and specify for Word to open the file as read-only, it does. Ditto with Word XP. With Word 2000, if the doc is already open by another user, and I specify to open it as readonly, it get a popup box instead of it just opening the doc read-only as I asked.

I was really hoping for a hotfix on this given it appears to have been fixed with Office XP.

    Any help would be great!
    Thanks,
    Eric

What does the popup box say?

Its the one which says this document is open by another user would you like to open it as read-only, notify, cancel.
