Print Layout Page Display (Word 2002, SP3)

A user sent me two documents that were created in Word. One displays in print layout at 100% with a small grey area separating each page. The second document also is set to display in print layout at 100% but only shows a black line separating one page from the next. The user claims to have trouble moving things around in the document unless the display includes the small grey area between pages. I am unable to find a difference between these two documents that would cause this display difference. Does anyone have any ideas?

Let the user select Tools | Options (in the document with the "problem").
In the View tab, tick the check box "White space between pages".
    Click OK.

See Elusive White Space for more details, with screen shots.

Move the cursor to the point exactly between two pages - you will see a tooltip that says "Show white space" or "Hide white space". Click the cursor to toggle the appearance.

Thanks to both of you for your prompt responses. I relayed this information to the user having this problem and she was very appreciative of the help provided by this lounge. It was especially helpful to know how she had accidently caused this setting to change.
