    Count query (Access 2000)

    I want to build a simple query on one table only namely table "Patients" and i want to know how many of them have been signed with "Symptoms". The field symptoms is a Yes or No field.What is the best query ?

    Create a query on Patients. Add just two fields: The Key field, whatever it is, and the Symptoms field.

    Put Yes on the criteria line under Symptoms, and check that it works.
    Now change it to a Grouping query by clicking the Totals buttons on the query design toolbar. It is next to "All". This will add a "Total" line to the grid, with GroupBY in each field.
    Under the Key field change this to Count, and under Symptoms change it to "where".
