    rename control (Access 2000)

Can i rename a control on the fly ? For example, if Me!Office = 6 Then Me.Branch9 = Me!Branch. Both branch9 and branch are fields in the table products

    Re: rename control (Access 2000)

I tried running a scenario like this in Excel (as I am more familiar to it tahn Access) and it gave me a runtime error saying that the name property cannot be editted at runtime. Unless VBA in Access is different in certain ways, it seems that you cannot rename a control on the fly.

You'd have to change the form to design view; in form view the Name property is read-only.
But I don't understand why you would want to change the name of a control. Wouldn't it be sufficient to change the control source?
(I also think that the design of your table is not optimal, but that's another matter)
