    Auto-retrieve e-mails (2003)

I have set up my Yahoo e-mails to be received via Outlook on my laptop, always using a WiFi connection. Is it possible to configure this account so that my Yahoo e-mails are automatically retrieved if there is a current connection? Thank you, Andy.

Do you mean without Outlook running?

No, I mean when I start Outlook I would like it to start retrieving my Yahoo e-mails if there is an active connection? Andy

I think you'll find that if you set Outlook to automatically send/receive, it will attempt to do it regardless of whether or not there is a connection. Typically with Outlook 2002, you get an error message in the status bar, but it keeps on trying at the preset connection interval.

The occasional nuisance of getting the error Leif mentions is offset by the convenience of getting messages automatically when I'm connected to the net and open Outlook. What do you have set under Tools | Options | Mail Setup | Send and Receive? Is Yahoo included in your defined send/receive Group (same dialog)? Do you have "Send immediately when connected" checked/ticked?
