Getting Rid of the Final Page Break: Word 2007 (20

I have a rather long letter that I use as a mail out to Clients. The original version had an attachment and the attachment is separated from the main letter by a "next page" section break. I now want to use the letter for another purpose without the attachment. I can delete the attachment Ok but when I also delete the next page section break I lose all of the headers and footers in the letter itself. If the next page section break is left in then a blank page is printed when the letter is printed out.

I have tried replacing the next page section break with continuous section breaks (both before and after the next page break) but each time I then try and delete the next page break, it is the continuous break that disappears and I am still left with the next page break .

Is there some way I can delete the last section break in this letter and retain all of the headers/footers?

TIA.

You could try this. Open the header (and the footer) in the second section and then change them to be "same as previous" then delete the section break. (When you delete a section break, you get the characteristics of the section after the break, not the one before it, so the trick is to change the one after the break to be like the previous one, before you delete the break.)

Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

Does the following work?
- Press Ctrl+End to position the insertion point at the end of the document (past the next page section break).
- Activate Page Layout on the ribbon.
- Click the little button in the lower right corner of Page Setup.
- Activate the Layout tab.
- Select Continuous in the Section Start dropdown.
- Click OK.

Many thanks to you both.

I'll keep persevering with Ian's suggestion - it sounds the simplest - but Hans' approach works a treat! .
