Preview templates (2000)

How do you set up a newly created template so it will show in preview window? Only MS templates will show now.

Sam with your template open, select file, properties. On the dialog box that pops up click in save preview picture and click ok. Save your template then slect file new and your preview picture should show when you click on the template. I don't know why Msoft didn't tick this box by default, and as far as I know it needs to be done on each individual template.

Thanks, this works fine most of the time. Any idea why occasionally you get an unreadable thumnail of entire page rather than the usual readable window to the page?

    Re: Preview templates (2000)

I think the reasoning behind the thumbnail is to give a view of the layout etc. of the template, rather than be able to see the content. I guess in theory we are supposed to know what is in our templates!!! As to why sometimes you get a thumbnail, and other times the readable version I don't know. The same happens with Preview turned on in the File Open dialog box. Maybe someone else might know?
