    Capture date Macro Runs (2003)

    Greetings,

    Here is what I am thinking. I have a Macro that I use to import a text file, and perform some formatting. What I would like to do is via the Macro, capture the date the macro is ran, and place that date into the spreadsheet somewhere. I do not want the date to update unless the macro is ran.

    this is what I have happening now, but it is not working as I thought, as the date updates because of the today() function.

    Sheets("CN Data").Range("IU1").Formula = "=TODAY()"

    this is the one recently assisted with by Hans. So when it places the today() function, it remains as an active function and updates when I open the file.

    Thanks,
    Brad

    You can use

    Sheets("CN Data").Range("IU1").Value = Date

    instead - this will place the current date as a value in cell IU1, not as a formula.
