Event viewer text log. (XPproSP2)

Is there any known method of saving event viewer logs (reasons) for each event? I have a disconcerting clock ticking from my CPU when I load my scanner software, event viewer is recording an event every second or so, that I need to capture the text to find out whats happening. There are numerous events happening very fast.

Doesn't your event viewer store them? Double click on an entry to get a description of the event.

Otherwise, perhaps something like Event Log Explorer may do what you want.

Thanks Leif, that may be helpful. I can certainly click on each event, but as I said, with one occurring every second that's 600 per ten minutes, what's a guy gonna do That link shows how event viewer should be viewed imho, for fast browsing, if I need to keep a record of the event viewer for analysis, I have to click and save on 600 events phew! Are they all different events? - or the same one happening every second?

And where are you going to find the time to read 600 events <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>

Hi Leif, the more I investigate, the calmer I become I think the scanner is somehow triggering the wireless LAN to communicate with our other computer, and failing to do so. In event viewer (Application) the only software evidence is AVG antivirus events, so problems with malware are not evident, it's just the annoying
regular clicking of the CPU (I presume) in sync with the computer panel light flicking on and off with hard disk activity which is disconcerting. I'll continue to investigate. Rod.
