    Quick Time player

    Hello
All of a sudden some pictures wont come in when I am on my home page. It just shows the film strip with a blue circle. A window pops up telling me Quick Time was not installed correctly. So I uninstalled it and installed Quick Time #7. But I get a window now saying I have to have Quick Time to view that. So my question is why do I need Quick Time anyway, is there something better or something that is a part of my windows xp in the beginning when I first purchased the computer. Thanks for you help.

    Re: Quick Time player

The major media players have a lot of overlap in what formats they play, but occasionally there will be a format that QuickTime plays that neither Windows Media Player nor RealPlayer will handle. If you open either of the latter two players and let it take over responsibility for all the formats it recognizes, that might address the problem. QuickTime has a feature to reassert control every time it starts up; you might want to disable that feature in its options.

You may want to dump Quicktime, WMP and Realplayer and use K-Lite available here http://www.codecguide.com/about_mega.htm it plays everything except for VR
