    E-mail signature (Outlook 2003)

    Good afternoon!

Can anybody help me with the following?
When I use the Word-as-email-editor option in Outlook and I want to add a signature, I don't have the option.
Meanwhile I found out that there is a button 'Options' which contains the sub E-mailsignature. (I was very happy at that time!) But.... When I select one of my signatures over there, I don't see it appearing in my message?
I don't want to set this signature as a standard signature, I just want to select it now and then.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Many thanks in advance!

    Bye bye,

    Re: E-mail signature (Outlook 2003)

If you have a default signature, you can right-click it and select an alternative signature from the popup menu.
If you don't have a default signature, I'd create an AutoCorrect entry for your signature (for example called sig, so that if you type sig and then a space, it gets replaced with your signature), or an AutoText entry (so that you can select Insert | AutoText | Signature | ...)

I'd thought of that too (the Autocorrect option).
Happy to see that you suggest the same!

Many thanks and a happy New Year!

    Good afternoon!

I was so happy with this solution... but now it doesn't seem to hold... As soon as we shut down our systems and reboot again, all the autocorrection options have been removed.
Do you have an explanation (or workaround) for this?

Hope to hear from you soon!

    Many thanks in advance,

Unformatted (plain text) AutoCorrect entries are stored in a file with extension .acl, formatted entries in Normal.dot.
Does your IT department impose a policy that prevents users from storing their personal settings?

Hmmm... not until we roll out a new image... and we haven't done that for months now...
I've tried to do it on my own system (I've got 'a bit' more privileges), but I lose them too....

Do you have any other suggestions?

    Re: E-mail signature (Outlook 2003)

Perhaps there is an add-in that prevents autocorrect entries from being saved. I'd try the steps in Phil Rabichow's <!post=Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word,197827>Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word<!/post>.
