    Prevent duplicates in WMP library

Edited by HansV to reduce size of screenshot - please don't post pictures wider than 640 pixels

    Hi,

I store all my music in my Music Folder in My Documents, but I also have a folder where I am storing a more compact version of some of the songs that I use for my MP3. The result of this is that these "duplicated" songs now display twice in my WMP library. Is there a way of preventing this by specifying an exceptions folder, or specify that the library must list songs only from a certain folder? I have looked in Options and came to a monitor folder, but this is not giving the options I need. Also, I have scanned sites on the net (below for ex), and they just show how to refresh or clean the library. (My best solution would be an exceptions, to force WMP not to look in a certain folder, ie my compacted mp3's folder)

Any ideas to prevent duplicate entries in the library?? Appreciate it!

Re: Prevent duplicates in WMP library

    I found a solution...

I zipped the directory containing my MP3 song list. After refreshing the library list, the duplicates disappeared. (Thank goodnes!)
So simple...I did not think of it!
