    Forwarding pictures (Thunderbird 2.0.0.9)

Can anyone tell me WHY, when I Forward an Email with pictures in-line (not as attachments) the Text goes through but the pictures arrive as Blanks? I click FORWARD, highlight the other addresses and Delete them, and just put in the destination address, then click SEND.
Thanx for any and all HELP.

Just to be sure, I checked a few of my outgoing forwards and the pix are included inline, so I have to think it must be a setting you've chosen for TB. I went through all the Options and Account Settings screens and have a few suspects. Since I can only post one attachment, let's start here. Do you suppose it won't include the pictures if you DON'T have HTML selected. How's yours set? I'm guessing at all of this you understand... <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

Comin' right up... That's all in Account Settings that looks like it could be of concern. How 'bout in Options - this one says to send "Inline" and I don't remember setting it that way, so I assume it's default. That button down in the lower-right corner contains an option to send in BOTH plain text and HTML.

As I said, I'm really on a fishing trip here, for I have zero other ideas.

    Yuck! <img src=/S/barf.gif border=0 alt=barf width=64 height=23>

When I got home an hour ago and saw that email sitting in MailWasher, I didn't at first recognize your name and started to discard it on the server. Then I thought, wait a minute, that name looks familiar and I'm glad now that I hesitated, in spite of the grossness of the pix!

Yes, I got the email with all pictures intact, inline and viewable. Does that mean you're good-to-go OR that the problem might be on the recipient's end of whomever you're normally forwarding to?

For the benefit of Loungers reading this thread, Pat forwarded an email to my Lounge email address that had several pix in it of someone who had hit a deer in a BMW convertible. Yuck again! What a mess!

I just don't know anymore. Some get it and most don't. I tried sending it to myself at Yahoo address I use and all that came thru was the text. Away back when ---- somebody at Mozilla said to try using the REPLY button in stead of Forwarding and just change the address. I'll have to see if that works.

Thanx again for all your Attention.

Well, you do whatever you think is right, but in this case I'd tend to think the problem lies on the desks of your recipients rather than your use of Thunderbird. I say that given that the settings of TB on MY machine are all defaults and I received your forward OK. It doesn't seem logical that you should use the reply button to forward an email and then have to monkey around with addresses.

It would be worth your while to ask your recipients who DID and DID NOT receive pictures in your forwarding attempts WHAT EMAIL program they are using. Perhaps there's a problem unique to Outlook or some other email program.

I use Gmail for my email. When I get a bunch of blank squares where images should be, there's a bar at the top of my browser asking if I want to view the blocked images. I also have an option to add the sender of the email to my "always show images" list. I think the folks receiving your emails should have something similar.
